Entry Guidelines

  • You may build a course on any topic that relates to the conference theme: Educating the Future Workforce. Acceptable topics could include, but are not limited to: soft skills, talent development and management courses such as conflict management, stress management, communication skills, company culture, customer service, emotional intelligence, productivity, storytelling, change management, creativity, adaptability, time management, analytical reasoning, people management, UX design, automation and cloud computing.

  • Course Length: approx. 2-5 learning hours

  • The built-in Course Setup Wizard will guide you through the steps of building a great course—you must go through each of these steps. If you’d like more help with this, check out our series of Course Creator Guides.

  • While it's not a requirement to turn your course online, you may consider launching and run your course after you've completed designing it!

  • Courses which focus on creating a rich and engaging, social learning experience for students will have a higher chance of performing well in this challenge. For example, courses which have a range of activities that actively involve students in the learning experience: from discussing ideas and sharing real-world examples, all the way through to creating learning artefacts, collaborating together on group work and projects, and applying concepts and reflecting on what has been learned. Read the OpenLearning’s Course Design Criteria section below for more details.

  • Only one (1) entry is allowed. To increase your chances of winning, make sure you are following OpenLearning’s Course Design Criteria—get a copy of this here:
